Feedback on reported errors
On this page I will discuss any errors that are reported to me and explain whether they are indeed errors; or whether they are just shortcomings in the program or misunderstandings of blazonry.
Where to Find Updates
I realise that there is some duplication between the tweets and this page, hence I have decided to use the Tweets for quick updates only and create a changelog for a more detailed list of changes. There will be no further updates to this page.
sable , a [hop] [cone] [argent]
A hop cone has been added
Sable, a [triskelion] [Or]
I will add this as a charge, I'll also add the armoured version from the Isle of Man
Don't understand words in brackets - "Argent, [ente] [en] point sable"
I think this ordinary is a small triangle in base. I will add it soon. Thanks for reporting!
Not finding second tincture in Per fess, ermine and or, a bear of the second in dexter chief
That is a bug! The program is only looking backwards for colours. I will fix it soon!
Don't understand " Quarterly [of] [six] [the]"
Just list the quarters, e.g. "Quartered first, azure; second, or; third, gules; fourth, sable; fifth, argent; sixth, murrey.". I will modify the program to understand the "of six", and "the" in front of the quarters.
Don't understand words in brackets - " Sable , a [millrind]"
I had this charge as "mill rind". I have added the alternate spelling
a horse murrey in [abyss]
At the moment locations must come before the charge, i.e. in abyss a horse murrey.
AAxes generating nonsense / Worn crowns not working / Error in treatments
Axes are fixed, (Inkscape incompatibility), the others were clumsy editing on my part and are now fixed.
Per bend embattled or and purpure, semy of swords or, in sinister flank a crow purpure, in sinister chief a crow purpure, in center chief a crow purpure
Should be 'middle' chief, the program doesn't speak American I'm afraid!
Gyronny of eight vert and argent an annulet surmounted of a fillet saltire throughout quarterly quartered all counterchanged
I need to add a fillet saltire (on the todo list). Also, I think that the quarterly quartered is redundant as the counterchange will make it look that way anyway. Finally, the annulet might not appear correctly as most browsers don't seem to render scaled and transformed fills correctly (which is what I need to draw counterchange). A toughie! I'll get back to you on this one...
Don't understand words in brackets - Gules two [pales] [or]
For more than one Pale use the term 'palets' - you can have up to six (but this looks like a lot like 'paly' so there isn't much point!). So for the intended effect use 'Gules two palets or'.
per bend wavy orange and azure an estoille or
This generated an error as I had spelled the word as 'estoile'. Either spelling is now accepted.
Question Mark Not Recognised
I have added a question mark as a new charge.
