Transverse, Traverse, or Doublet. According to Guillim is a bearing resembling a cheveron, which issues from two angles of one side of the shield, and meets in a point about the middle of the other side. P. 21, f. 41. It may issue from either side, dexter or sinister, the point should be mentioned in the blazon.
