In addition to the widely recognised heraldic colours, DrawShield also supports various other colour sets - these can be used to extend the range of colours on a shield (not necessarily following heraldic tradation) or are useful for drawing some of the non-heraldic things.

By default these additional colours are NOT enabled. They become available if:

  • They are selected in the preferences pane on the create page
  • They are stated in the drawing options in the blazon
  • If the Flag shape is selected, named web colours are automatically enabled
  • If the Pauldron shape is selected, Warhammer colours are automatically enabled
  • If the keyword tartan appears anywhere in th blazon then tartan colours are automatically enabled
