Hello everybody, someone I know (of German descent) has been told that these are his family arms.
From the image, it looks like the blazon of the arms is "Or, a saltire Azure, over all an inestucheon Gules" and the crest would be "A vol Or around an inestucheon Gules" - though I'm really not sure about that part.
Anybody has a German armorial to double-check? Last name is Schmahl.
+ Heiko Wallner is that in your book?
