MACCLESFIELD (Cheshire).
MACCLESFIELD (Cheshire). Has no armorial bearings. The device upon the seal shows a lion rampant holding a garb, and this is sometimes quoted as a coat. The Town Clerk's notepaper, however, simply shows the device as a
"badge," but making the lion "guardant," and resting upon a scroll bearing the Motto — " Nee virtus nee copia desunt."
