Karl adds, I've had couple of contributions attempting the American Flag, including this one. In my view the definitive, Drawshield blazon would be Barry of 13 gules and argent on a canton azure 50 mullets argent 6,5,6,5,6,5,6,5,6 drawn using a flag shape in the proportion 10:19 and with a rippling effect.
