Notes
Ever since I read Poul Anderson's Three Hearts and Three Lions as a boy a half century back, I have tried to imagine what Holger's arms looked like. They are describe only as "three hearts and three lions". Clearly they relate to the Danish royal arms, but how are they laid out. I've tried three lions in pale with three hearts in chief and a number of other layouts. This one, only possible through all the minute adjustments seems to most resemble the royal arms while still being unique and appealing in their own right.
