Notes

Very close to the Capital in the imperial district of Carolingia, the benedictine abbey of St. Peter and Paul was one of the favourite and richest of all the Reitermark, and a burial place for many Emperors. Quite uninterested to politics, the Cistercian monks of Skt Peter und Paul lived their life in contemplation, but were known as skilled craftsmen, especially famous for their richly miniated manuscripts, their fatty cheeses and their strong, sweet and tasty dark beer.
