Notes

A small village lost in the woods on the hills in the center region of Bastoigne. According to the legend, three Lafrancian errant knights (Athos de La Fere, Porthos du Vallon, Aramis du Lac) occupied the three gates of the village for six months challenging in duel each knight and nobleman passing by, a deed known as the "Pas d'armes aux trois Loups". La Fere died several years later during a jousting accident, du Vallon was poisoned by the husband of one of his many mistresses, and du Lac took the cross in the dominican order, dying old and wise in the monastery of Saint-Alexandre-Du-Mas.
