Notes
Suggestion for a new flag of Pennsylvania. Based on the long-standing license plate design for Pennsylvania, which is boring as a license plate but actually a pretty good classic tricolor flag; however, the central keystone (a classic symbol of Pennsylvania) is changed to black. The three bands can be interpreted as standing for the three elements of Pennsylvania's motto (virtue, liberty, and independence); the black can be interpreted to stand for Pennsylvania's mineral wealth (especially coal and iron). (Note: Formally, the blazon should be "Tierced per fess Or, argent, and azure, a Pennsylvania keystone sable" but done that way DrawShield makes the keystone occupy the whole height of the central white stripe and also a bit too wide.)
