Proposal for an improved flag of New Jersey, slightly updated from the original (#012647). The colors are taken from the current flag. The fillet saltire + escutcheon arrangement recalls the flag of the island of Jersey, but the escutcheon shows a simplification of the arms of New Jersey (azure, per pale three ploughs proper). The update is to the style of escutcheon to use the "Hungarian" style of shield, which much more closely matches the standard depiction of the arms of New Jersey than the Polish shield used in the original but which was not available at the time the original was submitted.
