Notes

Under a Harvard chief fimbriated Harvard Crimson a compass star pierced argent at the northwest point a plate charged with a scale sable. Modeled after the career of Nathan Dane, who was the first and foremost faculty of Harvard Law, and for whom the school was briefly named. His crowning achievement was banning slavery in the Northwest Territory.
