Notes
Bodaybo has long been a center for gold mining (in fact, the Lena Massacre of 1912 occurred nearby) and thus the chest symbolizes the preservation of wealth and the lynx (which lives in the area) vigilance. The arms were approved on July 16th 1997 and entered in the Russian State Heraldic Register under the serial number 1443. (The lynx is actually couchant i.e. its belly lying flat on the chest)
