These arms granted to John Peter Ratzlaff by the Canadian Heraldic Authority incorporate a fir-twigged edge for his love of trees, the keys represent "unlocking the door to wisdom" in his career as a teacher, the ox represents strength, and the four azaleas are his favorite flowers and represent his four children. DrawShield had no ox or bull couchant available, so I substituted a stag lodged.
