Judy Menting 2025 : Every stitch is a prayer, set to the music of the ever present annulets on my wrist. My favorite colors are blue and white. The cross is a symbol of my faith, the needle and thread a reminder that one stitch at a time makes something beautiful. make a beautiful garment. I never take my collection of 18 bangle bracelets off, so they are always jingling. That's how mom knows its me when I come to see her at the 'dorm' where she lives. We work on a scrap quilt together with her friends. I get to use Mom's sewing machine with the fancy stitches, and the ladies get to instruct and inspect. They are merciless perfectionists, so I need to remind them I am no longer in 4-H, and we are not entering this in the fair. Every stitch I take is a prayer that I get to have my mom for another day. She is 87 years old now, and that is still not old enough for me.
