These arms were granted in 2014 by the Canadian Heraldic Authority. The chequy variation of the field resembles both a checkerboard and a compartmentalized storage drawer, referring to his passion for games and career in museology; the latter is also indicated by the nine squares, which allude to the nine classical muses. It also honors Mr. Massé’s mentor and chess champion, Marcel Duchamp. The squares also allude to pixels and Mr. Massé's career in electronic media. The star symbolizes heaven, nature, and Mr. Massé's deceased family members. -Ae1
