Notes

The coat of arms of James Carman Mainprize was granted by the Canadian Heraldic Authority on May 15th, 2017. The stepped white chevron represents his ancestor William Mainprize's place of worship, the red division resembles the red buildings of Lunenburg harbor and his ancestor Johann Christian Ernst, the griffins represent his wife's connection to Hungary, and the gauntlet alludes to the etymology of the surname Mainprize (from the French words "main" and "prise," meaning "hand" and "taken," respectively). -Ae1
