Enquirir Arms, or Armes pour enquirir. Arms which, being contrary to the general rule, excite enquiry wliy the grantor should have placed metal upon metal, or colour upon colour, as in the Arms of Jerusalem, viz. ar. a cross-crosslet cantoned with four plain crosses or. said to symbolize the five wounds of Christ.
