Dogs. The Dog or Hound is very commonly met with in Heraldry, and when simply blazoned "Z^og"" is depicted as "hound." P. 29, f. 13. Those of most frequent use are the Talbot and Greyhound ; see al; o Alant, Bloodhound, Bull-dog, Pointer, Mastiff, etc. P. 2 J, f. 12 to 30.
