Numbers

When referring to the quantity of things, such as charges, DrawShield can recognise numbers between 1 and 64 using either digits or words - 8 bars or twelve ermine spots.

Herald's Notebook: In reality, numbers above 12 are very rarely found in blazonry - remember that the purpose of a coat of arms was originally ease of recognition so small numbers of easily recogised objects in simple patterns are typically used.

In addition, words such as the, a, an are recognised as meaning "1". Heralds dislike repeating themselves so the phrase as many can be used to mean the most recently used number.
